Moving This Spring? Quick Tips and Must-Haves for a Seamless Move
Moving can be a challenging, stressful, overwhelming, and emotional experience. I truly understand the feelings my clients go through.
At Home Perspective, we're here to support you in the exact ways I personally know you need during a move. I treat each client like a close friend and offer a shoulder to cry on if needed because life has a way of coming full circle.
HP aims to simplify your move, which can be one of the toughest aspects of “#adulting.” Facing unexpected life changes is inevitable, and even though it may be difficult, sometimes you have to move forward.
Prepare in Phases
Start the purging process two to four weeks before packing, if possible. Instead of packing, consider donating or selling items you no longer need. Keep important documents and valuables in a separate, easily accessible box or bag. Next, gather packing supplies such as boxes, tape, bubble wrap, and markers. Label each box with the room it belongs to and a brief list of its contents for easy unpacking.
Declutter
After sorting through your belongings and deciding what to keep based on the criteria mentioned, it's time to take the next steps in the decluttering process. There really not much to say here besides pack the keepers and donate or trash the rest.
Pack by Room
Packing by room is the easiest way to keep your items organized throughout the moving process. First, begin packing items you don't frequently use, such as out-of-season clothes or decor. Pack heavier items at the bottom of the boxes and lighter items on top to prevent damage. Wrap fragile items carefully with bubble wrap or tissue paper to ensure they are well-protected during the move. Once a box is packed, seal it securely with tape and label it clearly. Make a list of all the boxes and their contents to keep track of everything during the moving process. Don’t Forget to Breath
Inhale. Exhale. Keep Going 😉
I love organization for the clarity it brings. But my work actually does more than that. I can change the energy in your home. Your home shouldn’t just be the place where you live, but your sanctuary, and it should feel that way. Your bedroom should be comfortable, your living room inviting, and your kitchen clean.
So, if this wasn’t the move you were expecting, or you didn’t get the closet of your dreams, and half of the stuff is gone, it’s okay. Think of it as a fresh start. The beauty of your home lies in your perspective. There is so much potential there, and it’s hard to see right now.
I offer more than unpacked boxes and ridding you of wire hangers.
